Are we really that connected?

I admit I log onto Facebook everyday. By the minute new updates and photos feed onto my screen that give me a quick glimpse into my friends’ and family members’ lives, and because of this I feel a little more connected than I would be otherwise. However, I couldn’t have imagined how connected we really are until I stumbled upon some fascinating stats in this recent Washington Post article.

Missing Passport, Facebook Saves the Day

A passport is a precious piece of personal documentation. I must admit I am emotionally attached to my passport; every stamp is evidence of each international adventure. The other day I was walking to work and came across a passport, debit card and a few dollars in the middle of the sidewalk. I thought about dropping the personal items off at the neighborhood coffee shop, hoping that the owner would retrace his steps to Big Bear Cafe.  Instead, I decided to put my Facebook stalking skills to the test.
